This distinctive tuxedo is cut from an Ikat-pattern silk woven by Stephen Walters in Sudbury — one of England’s oldest heritage silk mills, long associated with weaving for royalty and the finest British tailoring houses. The cloth features blue and white horizontal Ikat striations, creating a bold yet sophisticated visual texture with a modern edge.
In a contemporary departure from tradition, the peak lapels are cut in the same Ikat silk rather than contrasting black satin. This gives the jacket a seamless, sculptural look that emphasises the movement and depth of the weave.
The shoulder is finished in a softly structured English profile, offering clean definition without the rigidity of heavy padding. It creates a balanced silhouette with a confident shoulder line and a subtle taper through the waist — hallmarks of Luciano Suits’ considered tailoring.
