Deco 1930s retractable chain cufflinks

An original pair of 1930s  retractable chain cufflinks. It's rare to find these cufflinks in such excellent condition and working order. These double-ended cufflinks, dating from the 1930s, are stamped with Made in England and have a patent number. The faces are finished with a raised geometric pattern.

These rare cufflinks feature a spring-loaded chain attached to each end, allowing them to extend up to 3 cm. The mechanism patented in England in 1937 means that the cufflinks can be applied to the cuff before wearing and the chain allows the links to open up to let the mans hand push through the cuff. The retractable mechanism is in perfect condition in both cufflinks. This is a very stylish pair of cufflinks, measuring 14 mm in diameter. They are from the Art Deco period (1920–1935)
