1930's Striped Black Enamel and Gold Plate Chain Cufflinks

These English chain-link cufflinks date from the interwar years, likely the 1920s to early 1930s . The elongated rectangular face presents a refined silhouette at 20mm by 10mm, paired with a traditional oval back fitting — a design that pre-dates the convenience of modern swivel mechanisms .

Finished in gold plating and stamped “ENG”, they are unmistakably of English manufacture. The accompanying “MP” mark is likely attributable to M.P. Levene, a London maker established in the 1930s, known for producing finely detailed cufflinks and personal accessories in gold plate — often for both civilian and military markets.
